Our Review:

**ARC kindly provided by author for an honest review**

Grab your tissues ladies and gentlemen because your going to need them. I have learned that all of K.A. Robinson's novels contain a plot twist that always leaves me speechless and my lip trembling.

If I could only use a couple words to describe Breaking Alexandria I would use the word self discovery.

Alexandria is dating Joel, who is a drug dealer, living in a carefree world. Dating Joel makes Alexandria feel invincible. She views her relationship as the forever kind, she would do anything for Joel. It seems that Alexandria and Joel are more like Bonnie and Clyde. Alexandria thinks that she has her life all figured out. At the time is believes that she is happy and content with her life. That was until Alexandria was caught by her mother dealing drugs for Joel. Instead of turning her and her boyfriend into the police, her mother chose to send Alexandria to spend the summer at her grandparents' farm in West Virginia. Alexandria hated her mother and tried to runaway with Joel, but that attempt was unsuccessful.

Alexandria (LEXI)is now in West Virginia for the summer. To her this is living hell because her grandfather is bound and determined to make her life miserable. She has to endure manual labor on the farm, but her grandmother's kindness is her saving grace.

Her grandfather assigns Landon to monitor Lexi and make sure she does what is expected of her. At first Lexi wants nothing to do with Landon. She is so caught up with Joel at this point that she couldn't realize a good thing if it hit her between the eyes. Landon is a sweet, down to earth, gorgeous country boy through and through. Little did Lexi know that Landon would be the one to show the city girl that her current life is not influenced by her own decisions. Lexi never realized that maybe she is the way she is due to Joel. Maybe what she viewed as happiness before really wasn't? Maybe she thought she was happy because she was making Joel happy? Will she realize that her life is not how she really planned for it to be?

This causes Lexi to really analyze her life and her decisions like never before. Lexi starts to question what really makes her happy and who brings out the best in her: Joel or Landon? No matter what she does she just can't let Joel go. He is her everything or at least she thought he was. She comes to the shocking realization that maybe Joel's feelings are not mutual and that maybe Landon is her right match.

A huge plot twist leaves Lexi numb. She immediately hates herself for the decisions she has made and feels that she needs to repent. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. Sometimes people have to hit a wall running full force and get knocked on their a** to finally step back and do some soul searching, but that does not mean other people will not get hurt along the way. At this point Lexi doesn't know who she is or who she wants to be, all she can do is wallow in her self pity. She has completely shut out everyone in her life without thinking how it will affect the people who care about her the most. However there is good that does come from it. This situation allows Lexi to find herself, to slowly put the pieces of her life together. This does not mean that she is making all the right decisions, but it is a start. Unfortunately for Lexi it usually takes a tragedy to cause her to realize what she wants. Now bound and determined, she knows what she wants with her life and is dead set on getting it. She will not accept no as an answer and this journey of self discovery and happy endings all started by spending a summer in West Virginia...

 Teaser:
While I had admitted earlier that Landon was cute,
nothing had prepared me to see him shirtless and wet in the pool. It was
obvious that he’d dived under right before I came out. His hair was dripping
wet, and water glistened as it ran down his chest and stomach. I knew I was standing
there with my mouth hanging open, but at that moment, I didn’t possess the
ability to close it.

Blog tour for TWISTED (Tangled #2) by Author Emma Chase!!!

Summary

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself—and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made hisin fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

 Excerpt #1

“Would you fucking stop! Why are you being like this?”

I glare up at him. “Because you don’t even care! I’m really upset here - and you don’t give a shit!”

His eyes open wide, incredulous.

“Of course I give a shit - I’m the one getting Jimmy Choos thrown at my head like Chinese freaking stars!”

“If you care so much, why don’t you apologize?!”

“Because I didn’t fucking do anything! I have no problem crawling on my hands and knees when I screw up. But if you think I’m gonna beg because you’ve been possessed by the Hormone Demon - you’re out of your mind sweetheart.”

 Excerpt #2

She stomps forward.  Billy moves behind my chair, using me like a human shield.

“Or better yet - would anyone like to explain why my best friend took off from New York like a bat out of hell, leaving behind a shit storm that makes Katrina look like an April fucking shower - and I have no idea why?!”

She takes another step forward and drops her bags to the floor.  Then she snaps her head to the right - in the direction of the perky blond teenager standing next to the lockers.

That’s Kimberly. She’s a waitress here. Works after school. She’s seems nice.

And at the moment - terrified.

“Hey Gidget,  how about you make yourself useful and get me a diet coke? Don’t scrimp on the ice.”  Kimberly flees the room.

Lucky girl.

Delores points at me and yells, like Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, “Well?! You can’t keep me out of the loop, Kate.  I am the loop!”

Review:

I was so excited when I learned that Emma Chase was writing book #2 in the Tangled series! I couldn't wait for the release because I was hooked to Drew Evans and his colorful personality! Hell, I loved all the characters! There are not too many books that will make me laugh out loud, but I know that anything Emma Chase writes will certainly make me do just that!

So, the time has come to where are given more Drew Evans! However Twisted is written from Kate's perspective. Please do not let this sway you, I promise that this story still puts you in Drew Evans head. Twisted is a continual to Tangled and the story starts out two years after the ending of Tangled.

I am not going to lie, this novel is called TWISTED for a very good reason! There is a huge plot twist right from the start. I just want to prepare y'all because I was not expecting it! I remember I started reading this novel around 4am and I quickly got confused and I said to myself, "HUH? Wait a minute, I need to start reading this when I am more coherent." I couldn't believe the turn of events. I never thought such a thing was going to happen, but it did and this is the element that made the story unique.

I have always wondered what was going through Kate's mind. I always imagined what she could possibly be thinking because we all know that Drew Evans is a riot. He is like an adult child and you never know what is going to come out of his mouth. This time, it was not all pleasantries. Drew and Kate were thrown a curve ball and due to their stubbornness and lack of communication, their relationship was not ideal. Not everyone gets their happily ever after unless you fight for it! This is what I liked about the story. I like to see people fight for their relationship. Life is hard and sharing it with another person is even harder. I was always curious to learn if Kate and Drew's relationship would last. I mean it was so sudden. All good things do have to come to an end, but it is up to the people involved to decide if it is worth fighting for.

"You know that saying, "It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?"That's a crock. Whoever said it didn't know a fucking thing about love. Ignorance is better; it's painless."

Twisted left me clueless. I had no idea what was going to happen. I was screaming at my tablet the whole time! I felt so many emotions: I laughed, I cried, and I got angry! This story allows you to get better acquainted with all of the characters and I loved that because they are all so likable and hilarious.

There is some comical moments throughout the story to lighten the mood.

“Everyone- can I have your attention please? My mom and dad has sex!”
“Congratulations, Steven. It’s like halley’s Comet, right? You only get to come every seventy-five years?”

All in all, I highly recommend this read and I cannot wait to read more.
