Blog Tour & Review for NOWHERE BUT HERE by Author Renee Carlino!

A jaded Chicago reporter in her twenties unexpectedly finds love in Napa Valley when she’s assigned to spend a week with a famously reclusive genius in this rich and deeply satisfying contemporary romance by the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing.

Kate Corbin has lost her spark. A year ago, she had a handsome boyfriend and a budding career as a reporter at a popular Chicago newspaper. But after the woman who raised her passed away, leaving her lost and alone, she fell into a rut—and never got out. Now she’s stuck writing fluff pieces about lipstick and wine, and feeling trapped in a relationship that’s going nowhere.

Trusting that the hungry, ace reporter is buried somewhere deep inside, Kate’s boss and mentor gives her the opportunity to jump-start her career. The assignment: spend a week interviewing R. J. Lawson, a famously reclusive tech genius who disappeared years ago but recently reemerged as the owner of a well-respected Napa Valley winery.

Kate jumps at the chance, but the trip begins in disaster, both personally and professionally. After alienating R.J., her only saving grace is Jamie, a charming vineyard hand who shows her the beauty of wine country—and stirs her aching heart. It doesn’t take long for Kate and Jamie to fall hard, and for Kate to rethink her life in the city. But the week ends with a heartbreaking journey back to Chicago that sends Kate reeling, wondering what went wrong in those four perfect days

OUR REVIEW

One thing that I love about all of Renee Carlino's novels is that each story is realistic and has amazing character development. Another thing that I have noticed about Renee's character's is that they are always on a pursuit to self discovery. This approach always allows me to truly connect with the characters. I learn a little history about each character that way I can connect with their present and follow right along with them on their journey.

Nowhere but Here is a story about a man and a woman finding love when they were least expecting it and overcoming the obstacles life throws in your way to have your happily ever after.

Kate Corbin is a reporter that lives in Chicago. She is in a relationship with a man that lives in her building. No the outside Kate's life seems comfortable and complete, but on the inside Kate knows that there is more to her life that what it seems. Those who really know Kate have realized that she is living her life in a clouded haze, she has lost the light in her eyes. The problem is that Kate has been unwilling to explore the reasons why. Everything around her is becoming affected, but no one would notice unless they really knew Kate. She is submitting mediocre articles and seems content. That was until her boos took a gamble and assigned her a leading interview with the reclusive R.J. Lawson, who is a wealthy tech genius who has fallen off the face of the Earth. Kate eagerly agrees to the assignment and heads to Napa Valley. Kate was warned about how closely Lawson protects his personal life, but nothing could have prepared her for is closed off, rude demeanor he portrayed during the interview. Kate was at a loss. She had no idea how she would be able to work with that man when he was so unwilling to cooperate.

The employees were very close lipped about R.J. Lawson and gave very brief nondescript answers about who he is. The only person that was the most informative was Jamie, a vineyard hand. Jamie is incredible and Kate is completely taken back by him. She cannot believe that such an amazing man can work for a person like Lawson. However things are not how they seem. As Katy becomes more acquainted with Jamie he becomes very evasive, but Katy is starting to look at life from a different perspective. Was her life in Chicago worth going back to? In her mind she thought of course it was, but her heart was beginning to guide her down a new path. This relationship is new to both Katy and Jamie. They are getting along extremely well, but something is missing...learn what it is by reading Nowhere but Here!
